It started as routine work on yet another icon set and ended up as the second-largest icon set I’ve ever made. While at the first glance, this set may seem trivial, the amount of "invisible" work and total time I devoted to this set is something I'll remember for a long time, that's for sure :) You may think – phew, they are just simple arrows, right? What was so complicated about it? It turned out that that pretty much everything.

Summer is here in full force. Except for a few short trips, I don't plan any traditional vacation this year, so my hope is, that I'll have more time to work on new updates and brand new sets as well. The following two updates are not particularly huge, but since they are bringing some long-awaited icons (especially in Halflings set), you could say they are important updates. Let's get to them.

I've never been good at marketing. My first thought was always: a quality product must suffice on its own to be successful. You could say that I was against doing any marketing in a traditional sense at all. Luckily, a good friend of mine has extensive experience in this field and offered me help. It turned out I was wrong. Marketing isn't bad in general, I only used to see its very rough and sometimes even manipulative methods. But it can be actually useful to both parts, sellers, and customers as well, and truly helps to resolve various problems.
Basic set update 2.4 and Halflings set update 2.2

These updates are both (Basic set and Halflings set as well) rather "technical", as most of the new icons were made upon on requests I received during the last year. Some of them should be already part of the previous update, but I wasn't able to finalize them in time. So, in the dry language of numbers, with 30 new icons it's 1060+ icons for Basic set and 30 new icons in Halflings set make a nice equal number of 300+ icons.

1030+ icons in total make the Basic set the biggest GLYPHICONS icon pack ever. I know it's obvious and that the Basic set has always been the biggest. It may sound a bit like when new iPhones are introduced – with a better display, thinner body and better battery, it's the best iPhone ever made – of course it is! Nobody would buy a new, but slightly worse iPhone :). But this is not an iPhone, this is different.

Today, these words have penetrated almost all mainstream media and most of us have at least a vague idea about their meaning. I think it's great that more and more people try to live in a present moment and improve their mental health. Also one of the side effects is that those people become kinder, more relaxed and compassioned.

This new set of people's silhouettes is a combination of traditional pictograms and modern icons. They come in handy anytime you need to express something concerning people's actions or activities and since they share visual language and attributes with the rest of the GLYPHICONS sets, it's great to use them together.

A thousand icons... My first thought was: phew, it's done! But almost immediately I realized: wait, what's "done" exactly, what does it really mean? It actually means it's a nice rounded number and that's about it. The best thing I can actually do would be just to keep calm and carry on, with no fanfare, no ceremony or silly discount, to celebrate this occasion.

The oldest, the biggest and the most universal GLYPHICONS set has just got its latest update. Version 2.1 brings 50 new icons, such as: honeybee, wireless-charging or passport and of course many other improvements. All icons are made solely on customer suggestions this time.

Last year's version 2.0 was the most important milestone in the entire GLYPHICONS existence and updated logo was part of it. Yet, because of all the fuss around this version and the lack of time and my attention caused it didn't get as much attention as it deserved. Now, when everything settled down, it's been a great time to re-evaluate its appearance in the context of new icons and the entire website.
The first version of SVG tool
Today, I'm really happy that I can announce the first version of this new online SVG tool! This simple web tool runs in almost any common desktop browser and it lets you upload multiple individual SVG icons, edit some of their basic attributes (without changing anything else in their code) and download all icons back to your computer in one ZIP file.

I've finally caught up with everything around, even though I'm still catching my breath. Due to many circumstances, this version took much more time than I expected, but every cloud has a silver lining and thanks to this, I had a time to rethink and most importantly to recreate all GLYPHICONS from scratch and set a new direction for the whole project.

Along with the version 2.0 and all related changes, I also created a new website, which doesn't have only a new design, but it also reflects the new internal structure of the whole project and contains a number of enhancements that you could easily miss, so let me highlight all the important improvements that have been made in a text below.
